Fall Fundraising Campaign

Over the next few weeks we will be highlighting the stories of those people impacted by our Fundraising campaign. Matt Robblee is a member of the Caldwell Roach Insurance management team. Here is his story:

Matt’s Story:

My father’s name is Carson Robblee and he lives in Upper Onslow with my mother Marilyn. He’s 69 years old and is a bladder cancer survivor.

When I saw the list of equipment the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation needed, I was surprised to see the Diagnostic Bladder Ultrasound for the ICU. I was very familiar with the ultrasound because it was part of my father’s diagnosis and treatment for bladder cancer. When my father was battling bladder cancer the bladder scanner was used to safely measure bladder volume and detect additional tumors.

My Pops was first diagnosed in 2009 and had day surgery to remove tumors that Spring. In 2010, when the tumors returned, he again had day surgery followed this time by chemotherapy treatments to deter the cancer from recurring. Thankfully he has been cancer free since.

I am very excited that Caldwell Roach is involved in this fundraising project as no one seems to be immune to cancer. The care my father received first at the Colchester East Hants Regional Hospital, and later at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre was second to none. I hope this initiative is our small way of ensuring more survivors and more positive experiences for patients for years to come.
